MF 202 Industrial clutch release bearing

Hey guys Update on the release bearing. Ears wouldn"t sit on 2X4"s without rocking, kinda small, but I was able to sit it in the vise with the carrier facing down and using a brass drift, a couple of good stern smacks, it popped right out. Got the carrier cleaned up, new release bearing ordered...

MF 202 Industrial clutch release bearing

Thanks for the replies guys. P.T., I was thinking along those lines, only not much for the ears to catch on, afraid of breaking them. Tim, sounds like your method may work, I just didn't want to smack it to hard, but I'll give it a try this evening when I get in from work. Forgot to mention this...

MF 202 Industrial clutch release bearing

Thanks for the replies. Steve, looking at what they offer here for my tractor, the bearing is seperate from the carrier, so, it needs to come off. R.F, I was thinking of the press off aspect, only it doesn"t have a lip on the inside to set a drift on for the press. Don"t want to break off the...

Continental Z134 Rear Main Rope Packing

Thanks for the replies folks. Yes I was referring to the "string" packing. I knew to pack it down, good and tight, but the old sting had what looked like some sort of sealer on it, kinda crusty. So, I was just wondering. Hope to get the crank and cam in this evening... Thanks again, Roger

Posted this up on the Repair Tips forum too, any info appreciated... Hello all, Finally getting ready to put the MF202 engine back together. Continental Z134 valve guide installation

Thanks Steve, and everyone else. I'm pretty sure that the #4 exhaust is worn because it wasn't a little leakage, it was a pretty constant drip. After setting overnight, I checked the combustion chambers and they were damp with solvent, so a valve job is in order anyway. And since I'm gonna be...

    Continental Z134 Valve Guides

Thanks for all the replies guys. Yes, I know engine machine shops are high, but there are a couple in the area that have been around for many years. One is a tad cheaper and I"ve had work done by both with no complaints. As far as boring the guides and having replacements installed, well I"d...

    Continental Z134 valve guide installation

Thanks for the info Dick, At my old job, I had access to a lathe and vertical mill and could have made the tool. Unfortunately, I don"t have that any more. I know the repair manual states two different heights for the intake and exhaust guides, and was thinking along the lines of the 6" steel...

Did the liquid check on the valves by filling the intake and exhaust ports in the head with cleaning solvent. After about 30 minutes, went to check...

    MF 202 Backhoe / Loader

Yeah 2tractors, I was wondering the same thing about the machining, or maybe filling in the grooves with that same stuff that they use to repair exhaust manifolds, like liquid steel, and re-machining just that one area??? Thanks, Roger

    MF 202 Backhoe / Loader

Hey folks, back again with an update and question. Got the engine pulled out of the tractor, disassembled, and have begun some cleaning. While investigating the low oil pressure / #1 rod bearing spinning and trashing the crank, I took the oil pump cover off to check the gears. It had quite a bit...

OT: Where to get replacement blades, Ford 951A

pdhntr, I buy my rotary cutter blades from a company called Agri Supply. All you need is the blade measurements, length, width, mounting hole size, etc. That"s what I use to match them up. Agri-Supply is about half the price of anyone else. agrisupply.com HTH, Roger

    Loose Steering

Bayhollow, Are you replacing the complete assembly from front wheel to tractor, or just the joint? The tube is the drag link, and the joints are ball joints.

    Mold or fungus staining concrete

Got access to a pressure washer? Here in the south, muratic acid is commonly used for cleaning concrete, bricks, blocks, etc... Spray it on with a hand pump sprayer, let it set for a few minutes, pressure wash it off. Try a small area first to see how long you need to let it sit, but don't let...
