    Would be reasonable to pay for a 35 year old Case 580 Super E Loader-backhoe. The tires are 50%, seems pretty tight, needs one brake serviced.. Has about 3000 hours on the clock.     cleaning crankcase

    Drain about half the oil, top off with diesel fuel. Start it and let it idle for 10 minutes. Do NOT rev it. Drain it and change the filter and refill with fresh oil. I have done this and had no damage to the engine. I repeat, doNOT rev the engine Sam Womer(PA)

    Alternator conversion not working

    I had a Delco alternator converted to 6V, one wire. Put a 2 inch pulley on it, mounted it and ran the wire through an ammeter directly to the battery. It always charged even at idle after initial speed up. I think the smaller pulley is needed to spin the alternator fast enough. HTH Sam Womer(PA)...

    looking for help from diesel teck

    I had the same problem with my Case Super E pump leaking fuel at the throttle shaft. It was a simple job to take 4 screws from the corners and remove the top cover. Replaces o ring,reassembled it. Started right up, problem solved. You can do it!..Sam Womer(PA)

    My project today

    Sitting in the back of my garage is a high frequency tig welder that operates from the stick welder. The welding leads connect to it, has control for the argon tank. I would give it to someone that would use it. Shipping would be the only expense.

    chain saw issue

    If you can get access to the back side if the plastic you could drill the holes to the proper size send insert bolts from the back. Weld a piece to link the bolts together and reassemble. Now you have reenforced the plastic and you mount the bar with washers and nuts. HTH Sam Womer (PA)
