    4020 wheel weights

Thanks Cornerpost. Have a pair of the 8 1/2 Zs. First impression was they wouldn't fit. After viewing 4020 pics, perhaps I didn't have them lined up correctly. Will try again. Thanks

    4020 wheel weights

What is the correct wheel weight for the 4020 34 rear wheel. Most online 4020 pics have the small center openings with the two cutouts opposite. Think these are A3404R(however online parts show these fitting smaller tractors). Someone here said these also come in different size center openings...

    4020 transmission oil temp guage

What's the best way to replace the transmission oil temp gauge on a 4020? Loosened the temp sensor head bolt and oil started leaking out? I guess the sensor has to be in the oil to work. Will I have to lower or drain the oil from the rear end? Tractor is on blocks in the middle of a...

Seat decal on '69(#201,000 and up) 4020

Thanks guys. Think I'll go with the 4-legged. Makes me wonder if John Deere ever put the 2-legged deer on a 4020 even though they changed the logo in 1968 and the 4020 was made until 1972. Anyone have, seen or remember a late model 4020 with the 2-legged deer?

Seat decal on '69(#201,000 and up) 4020

Have seen some discussion that the seat decal(backside of backrest bracket) still maintained the 4-legged deer(green on yellow) on the '69 model and changed to the 2-legged deer(black on yellow? or Green on yellow?) on the '70 models(noted as seen in brochures dated 11/70). According to John...

    1969 - 4020 numbers on side panels

Excellent! I'm having mine made in all yellow. Great to find proof I'm not crazy! I've looked but hadn't found the all yellow. Thanks for sharing!

    1969 - 4020 seat brackets

Pretty sure it was All States Ag. Got it about a year ago.

    1969 - 4020 seat brackets

I could see that could be the case. The original upholstery can be and is different then the economy replacements. This seat probably was replaced at one time and had yellow brackets. I purchased the better grade original stitching and it came with green brackets. Good to know. Thanks!

    1969 - 4020 numbers on side panels

I have a 1969 4020 that has been in the family for 50yrs. The "4020" numbers on the side panels have always been a solid yellow instead of the yellow outline seen normally. Both my uncle and I remember them solid yellow. It's been suggested that the outline version was original on this tractor...

    1969 - 4020 seat brackets

Curious to know if John Deere switched up yellow and green on its seat brackets. I have a 1969 with yellow seat brackets and have wondered which years were yellow and which were green. Or....I'm mistaken and these brackets came from another JD tractor. Anyone seen yellow seat brackets on a 4020?

H farmall reversal of 12v conversion

Ran the Serial # on the working H(12v) and it appears to a '41 like the parts H(6v). The working H has a 3-position light switch, the parts H a 4-position. Generator from the parts H appears to have a regulator mounted on it. """"For a regulator either mounted on the rear fuel tank support...

H farmall reversal of 12v conversion

Thanks for the info so far. I'll need to dig deeper into what I have. The parts tractor is a '41. Haven't checked the running tractor. I have a first hand knowledge of tearing things apart and a very casual knowledge of putting them back together. More later after I look things over. Thanks

H farmall reversal of 12v conversion

Recently acquired H Farmall converted to 12volt. I have a parts H with no conversion. Can someone direct me to either an earlier post covering 12volt back to 6 volt? Or at least give me a list of the things I will need from my parts tractor? And any cautions that come to mind. Thanks!
