Farmall M for NATPA div. 2

Does anyone know what block, head, manifold, and carb are legal for a Farmall M in NATPA div.2? Could I run a 264 or 281 block, LP head, LP manifold, etc or am I stuck with a 248 block and 8060 head?

    Farmall M pulling engine

Still curious about the rule in the class I want to run that says all tractors must have original block and cylinder head. Ive been doing some research just for my info. So a c248 for an M, c264 for a super M or 400, and a c281 for a 450 to meet the rules? I see that the bore, stroke, and...

    Farmall M pulling engine

The rules also say all tractors must have original block and cylinder heads. Does that mean I have to use a c248 engine and head? Mine is a 1940 dual fuel(low compression) with 6722-DC stamped on it. Can I run a c264 and LP head? I will get ahold of Murphy's also. I checked out their website...

    Farmall M pulling engine

I am new to tractor pulling and have been going at it with a 55' John Deere 60 but it is more of a show tractor so I bought a 1940 M with a stuck engine to build up just for pulling. Does anyone no a good engine builder in eastern NE or western IA? How about a rough idea on what I need to get...

    Which M should I keep?

Thanks for the responses! Fastfarmall I checked out the turbo kits before I even bought the tractors. Years ago I did a mustang with a powerstroke turbo blowin thru the carb so that would be very cool! What class allows a power adder? Janicholsen I like that idea too. I could just swap the...

    Which M should I keep?

Gentlemen, I recently purchased 2 M's and I would like to keep one for restoring/pulling and should probably sell the other to recoup some cost. I will be new to pulling so I wont get too deep into that here as there are a lot of classes/rules and I'm not sure what I'll do yet, just want you to...

    John Deere 60 distributer problem

Thanks for the reply Ron. I decided to set the distributor and timing per the manual today. Found TDC on the flywheel side cyl and rotated the flywheel to 5atdc as instructed. I then removed the distributor housing and reset the rotor to point up. There is nothing to stop you from setting it...

    John Deere 60 distributer problem

Hi all! I am new to the forum and I have a question about my 1955 60. I recently bought this tractor from my brother in law and did a full clean up and paint job. The tractor ran when I got it, but it smoked black a bit, so I did a carb rebuild on it. Been restoring it for 2 month's. Finally...
