    Early Farmall A & B promotional films

Found these early promo films on YouTube for the Farmall A and B. Wish I could find some later A & B films advertising the 2-way plows and Pneumatic Lift-All implements. If y'all know of any please let me know. Farmall A: https://youtu.be/Ix6bQPO_WrQ Farmall B...

    1965 IH Service sales film

Cool little film to sell you on dealer parts and service. So much I could say about modern throwaway culture as opposed to when machines were built to last and consumers valued longevity. Not to mention the heyday of IHC. Favorite line has got to be at the end: "Well, aren't you going to try to...

Manual selection better than a few years ago?

Just ordered several manuals yesterday off Ebay for my As and implements. Boy, prices and selections sure seem to be getting better. Lots of original stuff out there right now, and more and more reprints available, and more options for the common ones. Maybe it's just my impression, and of...

First time clutch job 1946 Farmall A

Fixing to dive in on replacing the clutch on my '46 A. Never done this before, but I am pretty handy. Any tips or warnings before I go in? Advice on type/brand of replacement parts to get? Buy parts first, or split and evaluate? Anything I might as well do while it's split, like rear seal?

Which new starter drive for Farmall A 6v Starter?

The bendix drive is sticking to the rear (disengaged position). Otherwise the drive and gear look fine. I've tried cleaning it, deburring it, etc., to no avail. Any other recommendations, or is it time for a new drive assembly? And if so, is whaddyall think of this new "improved" style drive...

Impending clutch job on '46 Farmall A

Backstory: Last year I purchased my 3rd A- another '46. I have one '46 already as a parts donor. I ran the new to me tractor up until this spring, when I got a Woods L-59 set up on it, and mowed the grass once. Cut like a dream. But, ever since I got the tractor, there's been too much free...

Yet another "what's it worth?" 10 speed H

So, I've found an H (don't remember the year) older, quality restoration, wide front, good new rubber. Owned by an old collector that I trust. Second time he's owned it in his 60 years of collecting. Here's the kicker: It has a hi and low range, making it a 10 speed. Asking price is $4,500.

    H4 Magneto problems

Working on a new-to-me '46 A with H4 mag. I've cleaned and gapped the points, and had to reattach the lead from the coil to condenser. I've got awesome spark at the cap end of the lead from the coil, but nothing at any of the plugs. Cap and rotor look excellent. Someone had had the mag apart...

Switching carburetors on '46 Farmall A?

Just brought home a barn-kept '46 A the other day, and I'm trying to get it running. The carb needs work. Here's the question: The tractor was set up for distillate/kerosene at one time, and while I'm sure it hasn't burned such fuel in a very long time, it still has the original kerosene...

What's involved in swapping PTO shafts in Farmall A?

So, I'm about to sell my parts tractor, and I want the PTO shaft out of it, as mine is, while still very useable, ever so slightly bent. Any special spacing/gear mesh/shimming issues I need to be aware of, like there's supposed to be with adding a belt pulley unit? Both tractors are setup the...

Stuck front extendable axle tubes on the A.

Alright, guys. I've read through the archives over at farmallcub.com, just wondering if y'all have any war stories to tell about separating seized axle tubes on the A series. I've tried trees, trucks, come-alongs, jacks, heat, BFGs, and I don't know what all. fixing to up the ante, thoughts?

    Pleeeeease tell me....

...this is not a s bad as I think it might be. I've been working on the A and here's the story, for recap: Because the manifold was left exposed for years, I pulled the head, and cleaned mud-dauber mud, bug pieces, and other junk out of cylinders 1 & 4. Pulled the oil pan too, cleaned...
