    As mentioned maybe coil. I have had this symptom with a carb issue, if the needle and float do not completely shut off fuel the carb can run rich which is not as much of an issue when cold. When hot the tractor runs but not smoothly.

    I have noticed that showing a bit overfull on the dip stick after adding the recommended amount of oil is not uncommon. I would add the recommended volume and unless it off by more than a quart let it go.

    I think you may need to split it and replace the engine clutch. Not that bad of a job. When the high range Multi-Power fails it just drops into low range which is a direct drive setup. Sometimes these tractors are used for years with no high range Multi-Power, just be careful on a downhill run.
