    Allis Chalmers Speed Patrol

Old It sounds like you get regular use from speed control. I had a MF 44 that ran sext to 0 oil pressure. I was always on the edge of the seat listening for banging rods. It lasted until I sold it. It looks like the last un-styled WC was serial number WC 74330 Mine is serial number WC...

    Allis Chalmers Speed Patrol

Yes there is a tag on the right side of the front end 1E-160 That puts it at 1940 but its an un-styled tractor and the numbers stamped on the rear end date it earlier. I find some conflicting information on when these tractors were made. 1940 was not when the first Speed patrol was made. (old)...

    Allis Chalmers Speed Patrol

I havn't seen photos online of any other speed patrol graders with the unstyled gas tank and the flat radiator like mine. I think the speed patrol started with the styled sheet metal And the serial number change. The early speed patrol was before 1940. I think. Im a farmall guy so...

    Allis Chalmers Speed Patrol

old Thanks for checking that out. I'll have to pull it out. Bob B I should be able to braze a piece of pipe in the top of the exhaust manifold where that piece is broke out but its good to know that replacements are available. Overall its pretty much all there. Those helper springs are...

    Allis Chalmers Speed Patrol

I just got this old tractor. I passed up one of these 35 years ago and always regretted it. Tell me what you know about it. The numbers stamped on the differential are ( WC 74311) Its unstyled but right on the border of the change. Hand crank only. No starter. Its...

    Off color Massey Ferguson

I intended to ask if anyone has found a substitute paint stripper since they took my favorite aircraft stripper off the market. Mike

    Off color Massey Ferguson

Thanks ASEguy They took away paint stripper at a bad time for me. I use a flap disk on open areas and flat steel. Are there any suggestions for a paint stripper other than sandblasting. I have a big sandblasting pot. I could remove hydraulic cylinders from the backhoe and rent a big...

    Off color Massey Ferguson

I used van-sickle tractor paint. Its an industrial implement paint sold at our local farm store. Using the hardener with it makes it a lot more durable. I did use rust-oleum gray primer. I think the van sickle is comparable. I bought new fenders. The hood needs a little body work. I have...

    Off color Massey Ferguson

Thanks Ben I took advantage of it being disassembled to paint in some detail. Stephen you have good knowledge of what red does in UV light. I mixed that color. Its a gallon of Massey Fe5guson yellow and a pint of I.H. red. I have a faded I.H. C (pink) Its a little less orange in person...

    Off color Massey Ferguson

I almost painted my 203 Industrial red but Red fades so bad. I don't like M.F. yellow so I mixed my own color. It may not appeal to the all original guys/gals but I don't go to tractor shows. I would go if there weren't people, just tractors. Anyway I bought a 203 backhoe that fell apart soon...

TO30 brake shaft and rod bent?

Straighten the rod and clean up the threads on the adjustment turnbuckle end. Putting anti-seize on the threads assures it moving in for future adjustment.

Massey Harris 50, stuck in 1st gear

Follow Dan's instructions. Then! From now on when you shift slow straight up and down and when you go over to second and third go straight across then go up or down. H pattern not an X pattern. It got stuck because when you crossed from first to second it wasn't out of first when you crossed...
