Deere 404 origin?
I think the 94 series still used a Case 504. Consolidated diesel was a 505 that came out in the Magnum tractors.- SouthFarm

Deere 404 origin?
I was watching a Case 94 series promo Vs. Deere on youtube. When comparing the engines the guy claims that the 404 was a truck engine design and that Deere had purchased it from a truck manufacturer in the 50s. He didnt say who the truck manufacturer was....I have never heard this before...- SouthFarm
