    AC CA Points

Am I measuring the current across the + and - on the coil? Thanks. I don't seem to be reading anything there with a my handheld voltmeter set on the 10A measuring mode.

    AC CA Points

I am having CA points issues. Recently did a 12v conversion w/rewire. All new tune up parts with new 12v coil. I've been unable to get it running smoothly. My points kept needing adjustment after it would not start at all. I'd open up the dist and the points would be closed without the...

    AC CA Air Filter

I cleaned out my air filter on my AC CA and filled to line with oil. When it runs the oil sprays a bit out of the top of the cup where it seats. I am curious if there is supposed to be a gasket around the top of the cup? Or maybe I need to bend my keeper tabs some to pull it tighter. Thanks.

    AC CA Wiring

I have a non directional indicator lamp I can put in line with the wire #1 pictured. Would this work? I have shown some pictures below. Bottom side of push-pull switch is #1 from alternator red, from coil blk, and voltmeter. Top side of switch is one to alternator post and the other to battery...

    AC CA Wiring

Thanks. The alternator is a Delco Remy with a label on it that says P7127M-3. The charging system on this tractor has never worked in charging the battery since I have owned it. I do not think it was ever working the way the PO had it set up. Correct on the voltmeter. I was trying to keep the...

    AC CA Wiring

So maybe I do have a three wire alternator. It has the 1 and 2 post under a cap. They were not previously used when I got the tractor. That setup never charged the battery. I pulled the hole insulators out of the old ammeter that was in there and used them in the voltmeter so I believe they...

    AC CA Rewire

I posted the in the AC forum but then it occurred to me that these are general questions so posting here as well. I am rewiring a 12v system with a one wire 10Si alternator with the 1 and 2 pin posts. I am trying to determine what gauge wire to use from the number 1 pin post back to the...

    AC CA Wiring

Hello. I am rewiring a 12v system with a one wire 10Si alternator with the 1 and 2 pin posts. I am trying to determine what gauge wire to use from the number 1 pin post back to the voltmeter. I am also curious what gauge wire to run from the coil back to on/off switch. I bought a new...

    1945 2N Sherman Trans

Thank you. I pulled the cover and one of the forks/rails does not move and the other fork is completely loose on the rail which must be the one that pulled out. See attached video. I hope it loaded. Are the bolts keeping the forks from sliding on the rail freely? If so I may need to take that...

    1945 2N Sherman Trans

Hi All, Had a hydraulic leak out week hole and split tractor and replaced input shaft seal (with kind help from this site). Still leaked and split again. Pulled Sherman out completely to take a look at the back gasket on plate. Knowing very little about how these things work I noticed, and...

    Hydraulic Oil Leak

Sorry, it took a second for that to sink in :). I made a gasket that is slightly thicker than the one that was on there for the cover of the Sherman. Since it is going to move the gear and the end of the shaft very slightly forward I was wondering if this should make any difference at all...

    Hydraulic Oil Leak

Jim thanks for your response. There was so much oil everywhere I could not tell. It was on the flywheel and all through the inside of the starter even (that quit) which prompted this whole project. I looked through the starter hole and saw the old coil (spring) tossed on top of the Sherman...

    Hydraulic Oil Leak

Hi All, Ford 1945 2N hydraulic oil massive leak out weep hole. I have been reading previous posts on input shaft seal and have a new one ordered. I am not quite understanding the actual location of this though. I have been reading you need to remove 4 bolts to get to it. I took the 4 bolts...
