Flame paint job on new JD combine

They'd explode if rear ended. That's the joke. Combines also usually burn from the rear.

Flame paint job on new JD combine

IMO, for a combine to have a correctly done flame job would look similar to this Ford Pinto...

    Marvel Schebler Tsx flooding?

Well folks on today's episode we learn don't ever assume something is right because it was that way when you took it apart. And no, scooter; this wasn't an Amazon or ebay kit. I had a suspicion lately; I wonder if my load needle is correct. And not just correct, but the seal, spring, etc that...

    Marvel Schebler Tsx flooding?

Today I checked and there was gas in the air intake hose (I left fuel turned on). I pulled the bowl down and checked the needle and seat again with the fuel on. No drips seen there. I've tried a float setting that was a 32nd shy of 3/8 and it'll still eventually start puffing a little black at...

    Marvel Schebler Tsx flooding?

It backfired both times I had the carburetor removed. Just the first start after reinstall. Yes, it idles better after shutting fuel off which is why I lowered the float some. It's much better, but it still improves after fuel is turned off and the bowl level gets drawn down. I'm wondering...

    Marvel Schebler Tsx flooding?

This was a great idea. I was 2 screws back together when I saw this post, so I took it back apart and checked with an allen key. I have it at 5/16 now and it idles noticing noticeably better, but it still improves after I shut fuel off. Also, both times I had the carb off, the engine backfired...

    Marvel Schebler Tsx flooding?

I have a tsx carb that runs a little rich at idle. It would run really smooth a few seconds after shutting the fuel off. I put a kit and a new float in it figuring it was the float or the needle. But after the new parts it's the same thing. I can hear the float move, and it's set to 1/4" to the...

What did the bullet muffler sound like?

So is it pretty much alternating 1/4 and 1/2 moon baffles?

What did the bullet muffler sound like?

Our U has a plain old Stanley on it; likely sized to small. Our Z always had a straight pipe. I guess it originally had under the hood horizontal? What would the U sound like with the proper muffler? It's a bit obnoxious with its current can.

    Plastic Oil Pan

Volvo/Mack trucks as well. They don't rust. If you hit something big enough to crack one you've got bigger problems than just a pan.

Need help with wiring or generator issue on late model U

Hi John, we don't make shows around here. Just too busy for anything extracurricular. Just like to keep the old horses running for entertaining the kids and myself. I'd like the U fixed up to be my unload tractor at the blower; easy on and off for those 20 load days. We're right in the middle...

Need help with wiring or generator issue on late model U

I think it's a cutout type. It had two terminals front and back. The one terminal has two wires running to it. It also looks like the wiring has been cobbled some before (there's wire nuts holding some stuff together). That alternator is looking more attractive.

Need help with wiring or generator issue on late model U

I was looking at a diagram floating around online showing the switch doesn't get power directly from the battery. It runs from the battery to starter, to ammeter, to regulator, and then to switch. Not knowing this before I went direct from the battery; it got me wondering if there was a possible...

Need help with wiring or generator issue on late model U

Hi all. We have a later model Moline U with the multi position rotary switch. I had an issue last year where it just died and had no power to the switch in any positions. I got it to run by putting a wire from the battery to the switch, but it'll only run in the start position that way...
