    John Deere B Timing Marks

1952 John Deere B. I recently had the crankshaft Machined and Babbit Rods redone. When I removed the crankshaft I marked with a paint pen the Crank Gear and Cam Gear. The Crankshaft came back looking like brand new but I cannot see the dented timing mark and of course my paint mark is gone...

    Dennys Carb Shop

I have recently done business with Denny's Carb Shop. And I really wish I did some research on the forum before I did so. I have found posts Dating back to 2006 regarding his work. I sent him 2 distributors to be rebuilt and converted to electronic ignition, and 4 Carburetors 1 of which was...

    Won't Fire on both Cylinders

Plugs are brand new Autolights. When you swap the plugs from the other hole the dead one will fire in the No.1 hole and the one one that was firing in the No.1 hole will not fire in the No.2 hole.

    Won't Fire on both Cylinders

I have a 1952 John Deere A that will only fire on the No.1 cylinder. I have overhauled the motor recently completely. It has a new electronic ignition built by Denny"s Carb Shop. I did continuity checks on the new wires and distributor cap and all are good. I hooked up my timing light and show...

Gear Oil in First Reduction Area

To All for the Advice. I found that it was coming out of the A565R Plate for the PTO Drive Cross Shaft. It had the thick gasket in between and about a one inch chunk fell out and was allowing the gear oil to pour into housing.

Gear Oil in First Reduction Area

Hello, Correct me if I am wrong but shouldn"t there be only engine oil in the gear reduction side of the tractor on a John Deere A? Tractor was just serviced at the local school for a project and I noticed a rattle in the belt pulley clutch area (broken ear on a clutch operating bolt) so I...

John Deere B Engine Runs Away

I had determined that the throttle linkage, butterfly, governer arm, etc was all free. I removed governer housing and actually found both weights missing, as well as the governer shaft to be broken where to weight pins go through. There was a lot of fillings, no sign of the weights. It is...

John Deere B Engine Runs Away

Started My 1951 John Deere B up today for the first time in about 12 months. When you throttle up the engine runs away wide open and beyond.
