    unstyled B fan

You can retrofit a friction type fan setup onto an unstyled B. I did it with my '36. I believe I got an early styled fanshaft setup and took the parts I needed off of it and put on my tractor. It was an easy swap. Here is the SB on it...

    2755 question on hydraulic weep

I don't believe it is the valve cover vent as the oil it drips looks clean like hydraulic oil. So it sounds more like the drain tube Tx Jim is referring too. I will have to investigate a little more. Didn't know there was such a tube. Thanks guys!

    2755 question on hydraulic weep

Hopefully someone will chime in after seeing the thread below about the trouble with 2755's. I have a hydraulic weep that I can't put my finger on. There is a tube that is pointing down on the back of the engine that will drip hydraulic fluid. I have not been able to determine what causes...

    Little Giant Rivet Tool

I just purchased a property and found one of these in the shed. I have to replace the webbing on the gas tank bracket and I was curious how this tool worked. Could anyone shed some light on how it works? I am sure it is self explanitory, but I like to go into situations prepared and educated...

    Long Hood A Fuel Control

Here is what I ended up doing. I got a bushing that was 1/2" ID and 1 1/8" long. Drilled the holes and put it on. Its a lot tighter than what was on there before. Thanks for your opinions and options and for pointing me in the right direction. I appreciate it.

    Long Hood A Fuel Control

Guys, I am working on my '46 A with the long hood. What do you guys use to connect the two fuel shut off rods together? I did a google search on the part number from the manual and nothing came up so I wasn't sure what best thing is to use. This is on a worker and not a trailer queen. Just...

    rusty john deere corn picker--worth???

I believe that is either a 100 or a 120 corn snapper. I have a 120 and the hitch looks the same. In the cross elevator there should not be any husking rolls, just a conveyor. If so, then that is a snapper. As far as worth, I thought they would bring more than that, but then again I am of...

    Gerald J (4020 Hydraulics)

Thank you guys for your insight and guidance. Tx Jim, you were the winner. The L/D lever had gotten jiggled around. In the past at one time the lever had been broken off which allowed that to move. Figured that out and everything is working great. Thank you Gentlemen! Kris A NC (now IN)

    Gerald J (4020 Hydraulics)

Gerald J I found your posts on fixing the hydraulics on a 4020 that has issues on start up with jerky hydraulics. I had the kit installed recently on the 4020. Prior to the install the rockshaft on the 4020 worked really well once the pump could get primed. Now, we have instant steering...

    Voltage Reg that will last....

I will do some investigating. another question, when installing the VR does it matter what side the terminals go on? On another I saw the terminals on the inside of the frame rails. On the one I am having issues on the terminals are pointing out for easy access. Is this an issue? I also...

    Voltage Reg that will last....

Does anyone have a suggestion on where to get a voltage regulator that will last? My latest is from tractor supply co. It seems that I replace or have to do maintenance on the regulator more than anything else. My tractor is a worker and it sits out. I would put it in if I could, but its not...

I am in the process of making the switch from Rubber hub to friction. My rubber hub broke loose so time to address the situation. There is not a whole lot on this site that I have found with the short frame B referenced with this conversion. 1. The part B2129R, is that necessary on the...

    John T....Question

Does a VR need to be polarized every time the battery is removed from the tractor? I have seen you say before don"t jumper to the Field terminal from the VR....what does that do? If a VR is not polarized after a battery disconnect, what does that do to the VR? Thank you for your expertise...

    '46 A Generator Mount

I have my grandfathers "46 A and it has the old Johnson Machine water pump on it. I wanted to remove the water pump as it is warn out and I am not finding much for parts. So the generator bracket that was used with this setup was the B2113R bracket that mounts to the frame. When I have the...

    priming oil pump

If you belt it up you can also disconnect the oil pressure gauge so that there is not a vapor lock in the line. Once you start seeing oil connect it back and you should be ok. The other thing you can do is when the oil line is disconnected take an oil can with clean oil and squirt it down...
