    oil stop cock

One of the oil pan stop cocks on 1946 Farmall H is broken. All that's showing is the stem. Is replacing the valve as simple as wrenching off the old one and screwing on a new one? The catalog P/N is 1 998 TA

    4020 charging

A family friend lives on a farm, her husband passed away a few years ago. She let the 4020 sit all winter and the batteries are dead as a doornail. Can I stick my charger on one side and let it charge, or do I have to disconnect the two batteries first? Joe.

Farmall 400 carburetor fuel seat has stripped threads

The threads for the fuel valve seat in my 400 carb are stripped and I am interested to know if and how anyone on this forum has fixed this problem. I figure I have three options: buy a new top half to the carburetor, stick a new seat in with JB weld on the threads and hope for the best, or...

    Head Gasket..

I'll start a new thread on this. I ordered a head gasket set from AGKITS for my D19 diesel. It came yesterday. My shop manual for the D19 mentions separate fire rings to place around the tops of the cylinders after the gasket is installed. I did this one once before, about 25 years ago...

    8n brakes

I get tired of fighting with the axle seals. I replaced once and it seemed like in no time, they leaked again. I had an extra set of drums, so I drilled some holes in a set. I thought that reduced area would give a little more friction and help, not to mention it might keep oil from...

    For sweetfeet and glennster

Sweetfeet, here are your pictures of the 54 I bought at my uncle's sale. I ended up with two of his trucks - the '54 he always had and the '35 that grandpa had and then he got from him in 1964. It's been in the family since the late 30's. I put a pic of the 35 on last just for you! I'm not sure...

    CNC Mill X axis switches

I got the brackets made to mount the limit switches for the X axis today. Could not mount them because no metric bolt supplier open Sunday afternoon, so will paint and mount next weekend. Please confirm my suspicions. X axis is left to right, with bed all the way to right is home. Y axis is...

I love PEX, but boy, that wasn't fun!

Finally got time to run new water lines to the kitchen in my oldest girls place. Ran PEX the length of the mobile home with my 14 yo boys help. Things went okay as far as the PEX went, but when an old guy starts having leg cramps, laying on his back, with about 4 inches of head space in front of...

Hello, My Dad just bought the a 1960 941 Diesel four speed trans. He got it running and has the mechanical end under control as of present. However on the cosmetic side, we're generally familiar with Ford tractors but by no means experts. So begin the questions. First, my interpretation is...

    Kep forgetting to ask

Have a CUB tractor. It was built mid 1977. It has the adjustable front end, PTO, Live Hydraulics, Wheel weights, Front and rear lights, Self start, and the bench seat. I know all of these items add up to the final cost on real old CUBS but am not sure on one my age. Does anyone have a list of...

fuel shutoff solenoid on M to control after-run?

I have a gas Farmall M I use to farm 160 acres. When I shut off the tractor I frequently get "dieseling" or "after-run". The only way I can stop it is by putting it in gear and letting out the clutch. Since this makes the tractor jump and/or move ahead, it's kinda dangerous. I would like to...
