Ford 850 Front blade hydraulic pipe and hose connection?

Back again. I have the 850 that is equipped with the single action valve under the seat. (in and out black knob) I have a front blade I desire to hook up that is >NOT< the snow blade with the trip springs. I have a pair of metal tubes with hoses at either end. I am in search of info on where to...

Ford 850 hydraulic 3 point surge

Here I am playing with an 850. I hooked up the brush hog, raise it up and it starts sagging immediately. About 4 seconds later, it raises back to the original position and starts sagging again. About 4 seconds later, it raises back to the original position and starts sagging again. This is...

Ford 641 Carburetor Float, Has Me Pulling My Hair!

Remove the fitting from the bottom of the fuel bowl. Screw in barbed fitting. Slide 18 inch clear hose over barbed fitting. Hold open end of clear hose up. Turn on fuel flow. Level inside the hose outside will correspond to the fuel level inside the carb.

    Ferguson TO30 wiring

Wire going to the points is shorted out on the outside of the dist. As was said, Multi meter is going to be your friend. Also new points might be pre-glazed for your convenience. The wife nail file or an actual points file will fix that problem. Me? New points and no start is a first stop...

TO 20 identification and value estimate

$3K might be in your neighborhood, not here. Check Craigslist and Marketplace to get a feel of the worth of your machine in your area. Asking someone not in your area is a challenge for a proper answer. Your also likely to get a better price separating items rather than looking for a single...

8N transmission help in the Southeast US

You don't need a shop to redo that standard trans. It's very simple and will keep you entertained.

1948 8n cant get to full throttle rpms.

Yep. It's a low burner. Now to make it a high burner, you might need to give it more to burn. Start with the easy one. Pull the brass fuel line elbow off the carb and see if the restriction is there. Continue going north in the fuel line and you should find it.

    fouling Autolite 437's lately

NGK No Good Kind. I have seen few problems with NGK's and the larger question is why are they fouling? Oil or gas? 12V system with 6V plug gap? Yeah, not many people think about that. Autolite quality has supposedly also gone off shore. Currently the best plug, not in production, is made by...

8N transmission help in the Southeast US

Welcome to the boards. Who is doing the restoration? You or a company? If you, then you can source trans parts on fleabay. Not difficult to do and that clunk in second sounds like a broken gear tooth. Easy enough to do, the pita is removing the trans which is the hard part. After that it...

    Ford 8n - Backfire / Misfire

Well if you saved your old parts start replacing the new ones. Condenser is #1 on my parade followed by the coil in second place. I have seen both of those new parts bad out of the box. If you disposed of them, I will still be looking to replace both of those. Hope you find it. Of a note is...

    Wiring issues 2n

So your genny is "motoring" and I suspect you have a genny problem. Was it working fine before? Or is the genny problem the cause of your wiring harness getting replaced?

How to remove a WM3 loader

I suspect a floor jack under the front to hold it up, disconnect the rear and roll it back. That should disengage the front pump shaft. Once that front pump shaft is clear, you should be able to fire it up and drive it back until clear of the framework. Like you said, Easy Peasy.

    Ford 9n hydraulics

Sounds to me like your draft spring is out of adjustment. The flip side of the same coin is does the top link bracket at the back of the tractor have more than one hole in it going up? The standard 9N top link bracket is only supposed to be an "L" shape with (3) holes at the ends and the corner...

Update on friend in the hospital

    Sherman transmission

The wife's '50 Fergy TO-20 has the Howard, Hupp and Everett in it. Now if I live long enough and get rid of a few <minor> medical problems, and verify the major one is not coming back, AND the weather cooperates, along with the fair winds I *Might* get around to installing the Everett. Marv did...

    Cracked cylinder wall

Sidebar~~ I thank you for the expiration info on the Block Seal. I actually currently have two engines that will undergo that treatment. One is a daily driver. The other is a 2N with a belly mower I just picked up. That will potentially get treated right after I check the direction...

    Stupid Is as Stupid Does.

I have heard it said that you should find the machine you need and then go up a size or two. That MX5400 monster is a bit overkill but it has come in handy a time or two. I ran that L2501 into a brush pile and it fell on it's face. Perhaps a larger machine in that series would have worked for...

    Stupid Is as Stupid Does.

There is a small part of me that says "fix" and the other parts says to sell it off and make a fast buck. I suspect I could make a bit more parting it but already have too much to deal with. I might have another idea. . . Decent weather coming up this weekend and i might at least get it...
