    it's a 1949 John Deere A. i thank everyone for their advice in this matter. At least i have some ideas now because i'm getting sick of changing the oil 3-4 times a year. it could be the condensation too, for i live in michigan and it gets pretty hot during the day and colder at night...

    yes, i agree with you, i would like to fix the problem regardless. i have heard from others that it could be getting in through the gear shift lever seal, but I don't know if anyone has heard of such a thing. the guy who told me is kinda goofy! haha.

    i am curious if ther is a seal of some sort in the gear shift lever base, i am finding that water is ending up in my oil (Crank Case) when the tractor sits in the rain. this is not anti freeze, i was just wanting to know if anyone has ever had this problem.
