    72 troy bilt tiller

Usually if you just rock the tiller a bit the wheels will move enough to let you engage the gears.

    140 industrial steering wheel removal

The best and easiest way to remove a stuck steering wheel is to use a bearing splitter below the hub and use a wheel pulled to pop it off. Works like a charm.

    help removing steering wheel

The only way I could get mine off was to use a bearing splitter underneath the wheel and crank it off with a gear puller or bolts.

    Farmall 450 hydraulic pump

That should be a Pesco pump as mostly they started with 051 or 052 numbers. Check with the dealer again, but if you can't get the right gaskets you can make your own with gasket material and a small ball peen hammer. Search on youtube as there is a great video of how to do it.

Farmall Super A 3 PT Hitch Conversion

The 140 is a great tractor and will be more useful to you with a three point hitch. I have been using a Worksaver hitch for 20 years on mine with great success. You won"t be running a rototiller on this tractor as the lowest speed is way too fast. However, a five foot rotary mower is a good...

    IH-1000 loader questions

I rigged up a five foot snow plow (IH grader blade) and used it on my 1000 loader after taking the bucket off. I simply put a pipe through the loader arm holes and snow plow frame and attached a chain to the upper arm to lift the plow It actually worked great for snow, was wide enough and could...

    140 Steering wheel.

I am laid up recovering from knee surgery, so i can't go out and measure the threads. But what I did when I pulled mine was to use a bearing splitter. It popped right off no problem. You might try it if you can't get the screw holes to work. Jamie

Farmall 140 fast hitch plow , adjusting it out ?

I have the same IH 215 plow for my 140. It is a two bottom fourteen inch plow. I have found that it does get a little unwieldy in heavy or wet soil. Best to not let it cut too deep by raising the front hydraulics on the fast hitch. Otherwise, you should set the fast hitch with some side to...

not getting stuck in a marsh...

I live in northeastern Mass. where salt marsh hay is cut every year, some by farmers who have been at it for generations. They use dual wheel tractors and hay balers. The salt marsh hay is sold in local garden centers for mulch with no weed seeds. The stacks of hay in the marshes are only...

Removal of final drive on left side of Farmall B

Paul if it is like my 140, there is a lock bolt on the inside of the brake drum you need to loosen. Once you do that, drive the differential shaft out through the brake drum towards the outside of the final drive with a hammer. You need to remove the bearing cover on the outside of the drive...

Restoring a International 140 Seals, final drive

this is a fairly easy job, you will need an engine hoist though to remove the final drive. Search through the archives for Super A or 140 final drives and you can get a lot of information. There is only one spacer which goes between the drive gear and the inside bearing. Sounds like yours...

Super A clutch and oil leaks

I agree with the others, the touch control fluid is not your problem, it is likely the rear seal. I had this on my 140, pulled it apart and replace the seal, dry as a bone now. I did replace the clutch while I was at it.

Farmall 140 seed plate drive oil seal

Guys, Thanks for all the tips and suggestions. Mattofvinings - I don't have a lathe so I didn't have any way to expand the size of the hole in the plate. TractormanNC - I tried to find a part number for the cover plate, but none of the parts diagrams for the Super A, 100, 130 or 140 even...

Farmall 140 seed plate drive oil seal

I need some help here. I have looked at a bunch of other posts, including http://www.ytmag.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=farmall&th=703047 But I can't figure out what to use for an oil seal around the seed plate drive on my 140. It seems like IH has changed the way it handles this. Mine was...

    Buying a tractor for cultivating

You will be happy with a SA/140. You can do multiple row cultivation with the standard cultivators, it just takes a little doing to get the spacing correct. I use a five foot center to center tire spacing, with either one, two or three rows depending on plant size, with 12 spacing between...
