John Deere 55 head won't go down

Unfortunately I'm not near the machine currently. I know it's a 69 square back. I tried as delta red mentioned with the air lock, but it still stays up. I tried running it wide open and still nothing. She comes up like a rocket!

JD front mount snowblower on a 30 series

Did Deere ever make such a thing for the 30 series or were they available aftermarket? I seen a picture of a 4020 with one on it about a week ago on here and never knew they made front mounted snow blowers for farm tractors. I've seen them on motor graders and such but they were a self powered...

    got some primer on

Got a good coat of primer/sealer on today. Thanks to everyone's suggestions on grease removal. The ez off worked good, needle scaler worked really good, and a power-washer hooked into the houses hot water supply finished it off. Now to find a good paint code to match massey silver!

    Got the sheet metal off

Got a good start on my project today. All sheet metal is off. Pretty filthy underneath. Guess I'll start with a putty knife and some brake cleaner to find my way back to the cast. Any suggestions on a simple way to remove some grime?

Don't ya just hate when you hear the "snap" of a part that you thought budged, only to find out that only a piece has let go. Ruins my whole day.

    wood bees

I've heard of using dishsoap and water, have yet to try. I've got a bad infestation of yellow-jackets(mostlty) and the regular black hornets. Try to stop them before they start every year but I am losing that battle again this year!

    New Project

Picked up a 265 Massey from my uncle, 76 I believe. Used to be my dads but sold it to my uncle when he quit farming in the late 90's. Poor girl looks rough! She's been in the weather and neglected for the last 10 or so years. Still runs pretty good, made the 10 mile trip to my house without...

    Hello!

Hello everyone! I've been reading posts on this sight for the last couple of years and finally wanted to say hi. I grew up farming and now help my FIL on his farm. Always enjoy the posts and Allen's project pictures. Hope to post some pics of my own soon.
