135 hydraulic arms dropped and won't move

I took the inspection plate off the right side of the 1973 135 MF and the draft and position control levers seem to be working fine . The oil has a carmel color and thick but doesn't look watery. I took the left inspection plate off to take the filter out but the filter has a wire hooked to the top of the filter and I was unsure how to get the filter out? what next?

Take a note of where that wire is connected. Then cut it off and you can unscrew the filter cap to replace. Then you can replace the wire.
