Open station combines were a very dusty and maintenance intense device. 12 foot was superior cutting (narrow enough to get through gates). We had a International SP125
120+ zerks and multiple chains to lube. Combining dry soybeans was the worst. Jim

My Dad had one just like that for a time. The only difference was the unloading auger on his did not fold up in the middle.

In relation, did the brand new 55 combine cost five times what farmers were earning back then?
