24t baler "kicker" issue

I have an old 24t baler that belongs to my in-laws. Everything works except the number 2 bale ejector/ kicker will not reset itself after ejecting the bale. If you manually reset the trip rod by had it will kick bale after bale. Looking at pictures in the manual, I think the plate circled in red seems to be worn compared to the illustration in the book. Anyone have any idea what this is called and if that will fix the issues I am having? FYI the spring broke while adjusting the trip arm. We had the reset problems prior to the spring breaking.

The online parts book calls it a plate, before 6200 serial number, use AE21197 and AE13428E and after 6201 serial just use AE21197. Hope this helps.
