3000 Hydraulic Conversion

I reached out to oldhokie a few days ago, but since I have a '67 3000, so Dan didn't have anything for me. Anyone ever done a conversion on a 65-69? I've got a 9 spline SAE A Rexroth pump I could use, I'm pretty sure I've got a spare Ford hydraulic pump to potentially adapt to, and a spare set of metal lines. Anyone ever cut the tubes off and threaded them for oring boss? Would take a little engineering, but I don't it would be too difficult to make the swap. The step is really close to where the lines mount down there on the side so getting hoses in there could be an issue. Just brainstorming and spitballing right now.

Side note, I don't know why Ford went from a flange and seal setup to a compression nut. I'm glad I don't have that style, I hate compression fittings.

What are you hoping to accomplish with the swap?

I'm in the middle of doing a pile of work on the tractor and I wanted to knock out the hydraulic system while I was at it. Top cover needs to be done and not sure I want to rebuild the hydraulic pump when I could upgrade while I have so much apart already. If I could figure out a way to adapt the new hydraulic pump, cut and thread the frame side of the hydraulic tube, I could just run some hoses from the new pump to the now tube "adapter" and I would have a whole new hydraulic system. I also have a two spool valve I'm going to add when I put the top cover back together.

The main issue is adapting the pump to the existing gear drive setup.

I realize I'm a little slow, but why in the world would you want to monkeyfart around with this Rexroth pump? How would you drive it and what would be the big advantage? Getting away from the original piston pump makes sense, but why not just swap it for a replacement pump for a 3600 and modify the suction/pressure lines to suit?
