400 farmall power steering

My power steering has always been horse pucky ever since I bought this thing. Could I steer it at all if I hooked it up manually? Just wondering if anybody else has a problem with the steering.

My 300 power steering was weak and leaked. I bought a new one from Jeff the Emblem guy. He has an ad in the back of Big red magazine. He told me there had been 2 updates to that motor and would make a big difference in how it steered. BOY WAS HE RIGHT!!! I could never turn the steering wheel when the loader was up in the air like when backing up with a trailer. After I put his new motor on it was easy to turn the wheel!! So if you have a motor problem I would replace the motor!! His number. is 317-379-7435.

I can't answer your question but my neighbor has a 400 wide front and he says the power steering on his is awful. What a sweet running tractor though.
