4020 Diesel injection pump problems

I have a line on a 4020----don't even know the year yet.
The folks say the injection pump needs work. Otherwise
supposed to be a decent tractor.

Has anyone been into one of these injector pumps & has
an idea of how much these run dollar wise to rebuild
them? I'm guessing there are several different pumps
on different tractors according to age, & I'll have to check
which is on the tractor.
I appreciate any ideas you may have.

From what I have read, Diesel Tech, on this forum, is an excellent injection system repairman, and reasonable.

That's what I am aware of also. I read every one of his
replies on Diesel pump problems.
Should make a file of his answers.

I think alot will depend on whether it is a CBC or JDB pump. Parts availability for CBC is not so good AFAIK.

I have bought several rebuilt pumps from Abline Machine. Not a complaint on any of them.Call em and talk to them.

4020s are usually fast movers! Should have just considered the IJP pump would cost you a $1000 a go from there. Even though you likely could have fixed it for less.
