4020 fuel starve problem

Some 10 +/- years ago a local commuity college instructor had his students rebuild the injector pump after fine particles from deterriorated internal piece kept cloging the line. Similar symptoms this time. I've removed the injector line and the 90 degree brass fitting looking for some filering system but can't see anything. I've tried to physically blow thru the brass elbow but can't. I wouldn't damage anything if I forced air thru the elbow would it?

Fuel or air should pass through fuel check valve one direction but not the other. IIRC glass ball in check valve can be difficult to see.

The glass ball check valve is the return line fitting. The ball is inside the fitting.

Brass elbow. Be sure fuel tank cap is venting allowing air to enter fuel tank in when fuel is leaving.
