4255 three point

I have a 1992 John Deere 4255/ The three point arms do not seem to lift clear up, only about half way. Any ideas ?

Adjust the linkage on the side of the 3 pt housing. But turn the clevis a turn to two then start the tractor and see if it helps. You can use a punch or screwdriver and bump the linkage while running to see if it raises at all(do this first). Read your post again, have you placed your load and depth lever in different spots?

Place L/D lever in minimum. Check to be sure large nut(item 44) that attaches 3pt control linkage is snug in rockshaft control housing. If those items are OK then I suggest to adjust rockshaft control linkages following numerous steps as discussed in 4255 tech manual
