520 Oliver baler

I have a 520 Oliver baler that I bale about 300 bales a year. I got it in 1996 and I have very little problems with it. Yesterday the haydog spring part number 5LT-571 broke. where can I buy a new or used one? I'm in western KY. by the Ohio River 42376.

Have you tried calling Maibach. A ran that number through the depot search and came up zilch but that doesn’t mean it didn’t supersede to a newer White number. Randy and Joe are good at tracking that stuff down.

Just call any AGCO dealer and have them check the computer for NOS at other dealers. They can find one if there's one at any dealer in the US or Canada.

Yes, ALTHOUGH the last time I went to an AGCO dealer for Oliver parts, the parts man told me to go searching for Oliver parts on the internet instead of bothering him.

Sounds like your dealer needs a new parts man. The one you're talking about belongs at the other green.

I got two manuals with the hay baler. One is a operators manual dated Nov. 1967. The other is a parts catalog penciled June 1966. That's where I got the part number. The spring that timmycornpicker put on here is exactly what I need. A few years back I got a few pickup tines from a agco dealer in Owensboro but their long gone now. The old Oliver dealership is still in business here selling New Holland. I'll see if they can help me. Even a used one would be very helpful.

When White dumped the hay equipment in 1975, Hesston bought the tooling for the 720 baler and called it the 4500. I correctly surmised that Oliver used the same hay dogs and springs in the 520, 620 and 720 balers. Pickup teeth might be the same too? The parts catalog for the 4500 can be accessed at the Agco online partsbooks site to compare.

Well, according to the Agco website: https://parts.agcocorp.com/us/en/p/spring/7894595 Agrevolution in Henderson can get it or you can have it delivered. Doesn't look cheap @ ~$25, but Agco never does.

I've had great prices and service from Jerry at Ag Parts First in Wooster, OH 330-264-9720.

Thanks scootergmc and all that replied. Agrevolution found 18 of the spring and I'll get one Mon. Found it with the AGCO number Timmycornpicker provided. New Holland dealer across the river said every square baler has a hay dog of some kind and we were going to match one up from a modern baler. Last night I made a temporary fix with a tarp strap. The $28.00 is cheap compared to gotta have it.
