641 to 12 volt question

My 6 volt battery quit and I feel this is a good time to switch to 12 volt. I have gobs of 10DN's and regulators, so the alternator isn't a problem.
A pulley? I can come up with a correct one from somewhere.
The solenoid? That is my question. Will the 6 volt solenoid hold up with 12 volts?
Can I make the lower generator bracket work with the alternator?

Yes, the 6 volt solenoid and starter should work fine for many years. Don't forget a ballast resistor or a 12 volt coil that doesn't need an external resistor if it's a gasser. Sorry I can't help with the question on the bracket.

Thanks, I had hoped it would. Yup, on the resistor and reversing the wires on the coil.
