7100 planter questions

I have a new-to-me JD 7100 planter, got the tires repaired and took it out for a spin and now I have lots of questions
  1. I need a new hydraulic hose and connector for the markers. Is this just a standard connector that I can buy at a hardware store? I took off the broken end, there’s a round connector coming out of the bar.
  2. Which model do I have? Was there an earlier 7100 mounted planter that was not the Max-Emerge? That’s great that JD allows you to download the manual for free, but there are several options. One is 7100 mounted Max Emerge, but mine doesn’t have that name on it. Another manual is for: 7100 Integral Rigid Frame Max-Emerge, but I don’t think that’s mine.
3. Planting Depth-What do these settings mean in inches? I want to plant at 1.5 inches. I have it set to 3 holes on each side. About how deep should this plant beans at this setting?

4. How high off the ground should the main tool bar be while planting? One wheel skidded a little, so I lowered it more. I now have the bottom of the bar at 21 inches, measuring it in the field, if that matters.

Thanks for your help!

1. be careful turning that fitting. If you don’t stabilize the other nut it can twist up the hyd line that comes through. I think that will be a flair fitting, but I find the many different hyd types to be confusing enough to not label any of them standard.,,,

3. With wear in all the linkages not all rows will even be the same. Sit the press wheels down on 2x4 and see what setting gives you the right depth.

4. You want the parallel arms about level when operating the planter on level ground to start with.
