8N carb

Need alittle help. My 1st tractor (8n)just put a new carb on and it was working fine. The carb is a week old and it seems that every time i go to start the darn thing I am flooding the carb. Any info would be great. I am going to try and restore the tractor. But like all things this will be a learning experence.

you pbobly have a lot of crud in the gas tank comming into your new carbuator. take the line off the carb. and let run into a clean can to see what looks like may have to take the tank off and cleanit.

Shut off fuel and start and run at fast speed till it dies for a lack of fuel.Then start or reconnect fuel line and thereby flushing out any small minute dirt that may between the needle and seat causing the flooding. CENTAUR

Turn the GAS OFF when not in use.

Most of them will flood themselves just sitting there with the gas turned on.

You may have a few different problems causeing that. One is you maybe chokeing it and not needing to do so. #2 You may have a dirty fuel tank and thats getting dirt in the carb and causeing the needle not to seat as it should. #3 your not turning off the gas when you park it. First thing I would do is make sure you have all 3 filters on it like you should. Ones in the tank at the top of the sediment bowl and you have to remove the sediment bowl to see if its there. #2 is a screen in the sediment bowl, its up at the top and the gasket sits on it. #3 is in the elbow on the carb where the fuel line hooks up.
