Well, I just had a first after working on these tractors for over 50 years. While removing the TA unit from the transmission housing the casting of the TA was broke in two pieces. Can’t imagine how it could happen then found the input shaft from the clutch was severely twisted. The only thing holding the unit from spinning was the three jumper tubes. Now I know why they came out so hard. Had to tap them and use a slide hammer to get them out. New TA back in and set pressure at 290 and all is good. Hope the ole tractor has a easier life now after being severely abused

Welp yep that is a first . Now i did have a 766 GAS twist the input shaft off . Happened to my one friend on a day i did not have the time . He was hauling a load of balded hay 210 hand stacked IDIOT cubes when every thing came to a halt and his wife came over to the shop as i was getting ready to leave to go to my brothers wedding and Ronnie was broke down in the road . All i had at the shop that was running was my S/Mta . Hooked up to the trailer run the M ta up on it thrrew a chain over the ft tires and a chain over the draw bar threw the coupling pole on it and kicked my 88 Ford F350 in the gas and had to go five miles to get to him . Unloaded on the road hooked the coupling pole to the 766 shoved it up on the trailer with the same tie down and i went east to the state road then north 8 miles to town to the house parking in the empty lot with ronnie's 766 setting on the trailer in a residential neighbor hood , ran across two yards into the house into the shower out of the shower dressed and to the chuck with 30 seconds to spare . get thru the wedding part then rush home change clothes and take everything out to the shop . then back home change clothes and to the reception . Then the next day i have ronnies wife on my case why the tractor is not fixed yet . I did not even have it split yet . I did that the next day finding the input twisted off and telling the witch she was going to have to spring for a new T/A and how much it was going to cost . I think she made 15000 feet and i get but ronnie is your FRIEND , yep and it is still going to COST you this much BUT you can take it down to the I H dealer and it will cost you a lot more if you like. One thing about fixing tractors at some point in time you will have them WTF moments as how did this ever happen .
