My 48 Allis C has engine number CE178545PA with tractor number 64603. My operator's manual states engines with a K are standard compression and engines with a G are high compression. Mine says PA. What does this designation mean? Thanks for your time.

I would have to look it up as at 88 and over 10 years since I was into tinkering on them it would be hard to tell after this many years. Most would have been rebuilt with larger pistons than what came with them. All the B and C blocks would accept all the sleeves for the larger pistons. The only way the compression was changed in manufacturing the engine was piston diameter.
