A neighbor stopped in this afternoon, said he saw it laying in the road and picked it up to keep someone from getting a flat tire. It’s about a foot long, round part about 1/2 inch in diameter, the gear threads on, I saw numbers and wire wheeled it. No other markings.

A678 is an IHC number & that may be a pittman for a horse drawn mower.

I think I saw something similar on an old manure spreader, I think for gate adjustment.
