Auction season

I noticed this week that the auction section of the paper is getting bigger. Have not seen any muct go sale bills yet but there are a few coming up. There was a sign up on a farm on the way to work tonight, 400 some odd acres, no equipment. It is still hot and dry, most of the beans are still in the field, but I guess it is that time of year again. Good thing is bank has not put a sign in my yard yet. I enjoy going to them in the winter when there ain't much else going on. Get a few good deals a year and talk to some people I never see anywhere else.

Oh yes, I like to watch them sell for $20 more than Southern States sells them for. Just like handy man jacks, log chains, and feed bunks.

I always like to go to auctions and watch the fools pay more for no-name tools than I pay for Craftsman or even Snap-On sometimes!

Once in a while we catch a deal, but not too often. Last one was a Maytag single for $10 and a Farmall C for $1400. Most everything else at the sale went way too high for our budget.

You are right and when a woman starts bidding she will buy it no matter what the price is. Some times I get a better buy, buying it from the bidder. A pile of JD PTO shields sold as a group at my last sale was able to get the one I wanted for 20 dollars from the buyer. You gottsa know the values. Need and what is find line at a auction. Low lifes even at a good JD auctions are walking off with hay rack items they did not buy more often then you would think. Saw it at Iowa and Illinois auctions.
