Bob, son got the car to a suspension shop today. Turns out the spring was broken at the top, at the first ring. Also had to replace the bearing assy, as you said. Springs came in pairs, so had the other replaced at same time. That and an allignment and $400 later..... Thanks for your response on this. Ray
