broken hourmeter

The tach on my tractor works ('85 Ford 545A) - but the hourmeter is stuck. Is there anything I can do to get it going?

There is a meter shop in Va, that quoted me on fixing that same problem on a MF 245 tach/meter. They wanted something over 200 dollars, IIRC... They said they did not like working on tractor tachs, because they are usually full of dirt. Needless to say, I did not send it out to get fixed.. I hate to replace the meter, since it only shows 917 hours, and I have not put many hours on it since it stopped.. Once I replace the meter, I might as well have a 6,000 hour tractor, if I ever try to sell it..
