cleaning tank

Pressure washed inside of fuel tank with hot water but there is still some crud on the walls that you can scrape off. What can I spray on to cut it off. Would have to do with the air compressor siphon nozzle. Tank is still on the tractor.

I would try ethanol.

It may dissovle it and won't hurt your tractor if you don't get it all out.

If its a diesel you may want to try Bio diesel to clean it. I've heard it likes to clean crud out of tanks and plug the filters.

And it won't hurt your engine either if you don't get it all out.

I usually just spray oven cleaner inside the tank, then take it to the car wash and wash it out good. When its dry,then put a coat of Red Cote inside the tank. Of course, the tank is off of the tractor.
I tried cleaning the tanks when on the tractor and it never failed, there was all ways some crud left in the tank, so just remove the tanks now, much quicker and a better job done.

Yes, It is a diesel. Removing the tank is not possible. Too many hyd lines. I thought about oven cleaner but working through a 2in hole and would have to spray upside down.

B-20. Soy oil in the B-20 will do a good job of cleaning it up.Will probably plug your filters though.

Toss some 3/4 steel nuts in the tank. Add some solvent and bung up the holes.
Jack up both rear wheels of a tractor. Strap the tank to one of the rear wheels.
Rotate at slow & medium speed in forwards & reverse.
Rotate tank 1/4 on wheel and repeat.
Use a magnet to fish nuts out.
Pour out tank and wonder how so much crud got in there.
