Cub Cadet 2206 PTO Belt width

I have a Cub cadet with the drive shaft 48" cut. It keeps eating up the PTO belts. The part number 954-3068 is supposed to be a 110.5 belt x .656 wide. All the aftermarket belts are 5/8 wide x 110.5. could the difference in OEM VS aftermarket be the reason my cub is eating up belts. i mean it takes chunks out of the belt. I have checked all pulleys. i did find out that the wire bracket that went across the mule pulley was bent.

OEM belts have a kevlar construction...aftermaket (usually) do not. THAT makes a huge difference. Engaging/disengaging the PTO at wide open engine speed eats belts too!
