cutting a truck in half

I was wondering how to disasemble or cut apart the bed of a truck from the front with mimamal tools

If it"s not too rusted, just loosen the bolts holding it on, An electric or air impact will work for that. If you don"t have that a sawzall is also a very good tool for that.

You can't really get those tools in between the framerails.

I'm fond of grinding/burning the carriage bolt heads off in the bed (if they're terribly rusted), then it'll just lift right off.

If you want to make a trailer, the easy way is to cut the frame (a good Sawsall with a Lenox brand 12 TPI metal cutting blade is best) Cut as far forward as possible, way under the cab so the two frames stick out as far as possible to form the triangle of the tongue of the trailer. Be sure to block things up very well, and remove the fuel tank before starting to avoid fires. I would replace the rear axle with a tube axle from a trailer store rather than keeping the truck banjo (which weighs too much in a trailer and makes them handle less well and pull harder. Be safe and take your time. JimN

There is usually no more than 6 bolts holding the bed on just cut or grind the nuts off and wa la it's off .

Depends on what kind of truck, I was able to take my bed off my Dodge to replace the fuel fill tube with a ratchet from underneath.
