Cyclo 400 seeder

What to do with a cyclo seeder? I have this seeder and strongly thinking about sending it the the scrap yard. I gave the drum gasket to a good friend yesterday. So I think that pushed me over the top. But, has anyone transformed one of these seeders into a 2 row deer food plot planter or small sweet corn be small tractor or ATV? I'd be interested in knowing how the project went.

So, after you gave the good gasket away, I'm guessing you want to convert it to plate type row units?

I'm thinking a cut down 400 would be a bit heavy for a 4 wheeler. My concern would be tongue weight. An H or 300U would be able to handle it ok. Not sure about the newer compacts. Don't have any working history with those.

_Ya a new gasket is pushing $200. Early in life we did a lot together then we took different directions. for some 50 + years. I really wouldn't have the know how to make this happen unless there was a you tube video to follow.

The Cyclo planter wouldn't lend itself too well to scaling down for ATV's or other PTO-less vehicles because of the blower fan necessary to operate the seed delivery system. While a person could maybe rig up an electric fan system it would likely draw more current than what an ATV's stator can provide. The end result would be a machine much more complicated and bulky than the typical ground-driven unit planters like the Deere/Yetter 71 that are commonly used for small-scale set-ups.

Scrap, unfortunately. I like to save things, but that is the least likely planter to cut down into anything but scrap.
