Danfoss hydraulics pipe location HELP

Hi

Can anyone help please this is a project that is just been restored, it is 80/90 reverser drive Fiat tractor , it came to us in pieces and we need some help on the fitting of the hydraulic pipes can anyone help please

It would help to ask specifically what connections you are talking about. I see a bunch of disconnected lines (pipes) in these photos. If it is all of them, concentrate on one system at a time, like the power steering, and then something else. steve

The second picture I see o-ring face seal male ends. In the fourth picture I see 5 jic 37 degree fittings.

there is 5 outlets coming from the pump but only 4 connectors, is there a way of identifying which pipe goes where in order to rule out any possible damage with the pressure .

Although I don't know this tractor at all, that doesn't look like a pump. It looks more like an orbital steering valve, sometimes called a hand pump. The power steering pump would be supplying pressure to one of the ports on this valve, one port would take unused pressure back to the reservoir (that tank on top the engine), and two of them would supply pressure to both sides of a steering cylinder. If you have two steering cylinders, one port may be a return to the valve from the other end of the cylinders. The orbital valves I've seen have markings next to each of the ports. Explain to me where the larger of the 3 pipes comes from in the lower right of your second photo. I suspect its coming from the power steering pump on the engine, and the large pipe coming out of the lower right side of the tank is going to the suction side of that pump too. That means your return-to-tank, from the orbital valve goes into the lower left of the tank, maybe passing through the filters first. Your best bet at this point is to disconnect the steering valve from its frame and look for markings at each of the ports. Or find a schematic for your model of valve. steve

I would expect the ports on the valve are labeled. Have you inspected for that? There will be one for pressure (which will lead to the pump) one for right turn one for left turn and one a return to the oil tank. The fifth port would most likely be a pressure relief sump port which will also go the tank. If the ports are not marked, you can experiment with compressed air instead of oil flow. It might make a bit of a mess, but you should be able to figure out which port is which without much trouble.

Hello Johnny, welcome to YT! I am not sure how helpful this will be or if it is correct. This is a link to the manufacturers parts catalog. CNHI Fiat 80-90DT parts catalog At the linked page go to Category 04 Front Steering and Diagram 1.63.8/ 1[01] & …[02] Hydraulic Steering…Piping. You can switch between the two by using the Previous and Next arrow on the page. I am questioning how correct this is because the diagram does not utilize the “bulkhead” fitting as shown in your picture.

Call Hydra fold auger 217 379 2614 or Hydrafoldauger.com They had me call a place in OH to talk to a guy that worked for a place that used roller stater motors all the time and he was pretty helpful for what I needed . Roller stater is some how part of Danfoss. I would call them and send them the pictures of what you have. they will be able to help you out on which line goes where. I know it sounds complicated but it is not really. I just can't remember the place I called. so they can hook you up with them.

Since you don't know how it went together before you are going to have to find some documentation, such as a service manual. The odds of someone here knowing what goes where based on your close-up pictures is slim to none.

Johnny, I looked at your pictures again, and I believe you should be able to see markings for each of the ports on the valve, where the banjo fittings hold the short rubber down lines to the casting of the pump. steve

Right with a couple fellows here. Steering valves are "usually" marked with things like.
P pump
T tank
PB power beyond; the rest of the hydraulics
A or R one direction
B or L the other direction
