Don I found this on a letterhead dated May 5th 1908. I'm not sure what they mean when they say Agent. I would guess that is how they said it in 1908 meaning seller. That was 108 years ago so I'll let you decide.

Thanks once again, Gerald. To the best of my knowledge an agent represented the product by selling it, but kept no parts and provided no repair service. Many old Case dealers were probably more correctly called agents, rather than dealers. This would include feed mills, hardware stores, blacksmith shops, service stations, etc. I am certainly pleased to add this one to the list. Happy New Year! Don
 
An additional thought: Mr. Barbknecht, being a wood and coal dealer, would have a steady fuel supply for steam engines in 1908.
