Deere 2155 Wiring

I'm having difficulty finding the correct wiring diagrams for my Deere 2155 Ser. # 653519. I've downloaded the Deere Technical Manual that covers that model, but I'm having problems matching up the diagrams to my tractor, and so I have a couple questions;
First, does "618 700L-" mean all tractors after that number ? In other words, if the dash precedes the number it means before, if it follows it means after?
Second, how accurate are these diagrams ? I'm having difficulty finding a diagram that matches what I have, in terms of wire colors and fuse designations, etc..

What I am facing is a low hours tractor in very good condition that had someone mess with the wiring under the dash. It works (mostly), but there were some very strange things done that are definitely not original. I'd like to get everything back to where it belongs, but that's impossible without having a diagram that is 100% correct for that model and year.

I also have another 2155 that hasn't been messed with, and is very close in serial number. Unfortunately, there seem to be differences in the wiring, even where it hasn't been tampered with. So just copying the wiring in the second tractor doesn't seem to be an option.

Dash before is that serial number and before and dash after means starting with that serail number and the ones after.

I have not trusted going fully by wire colors as I have seen many different colors than a diagram shows. I have often unhooked wire ends and check point to point if in doubt.

I agree with Jim.ME. Do you have tech manuals shown in photo below?

I have TM4436. That's the only one I could find a reasonably priced download for.
I can't even ask repair advice, since the wiring has been altered. I may have to settle for just getting things to work.
I do wish I knew which diagram was the closest to what I have. As I said, I even have another 2155 that's very c;lose in serial numbers, but I see differences in how it was wired at the factory.
Here's a couple random questions.
1) There is a plastic bracket that mounts to the dash and holds an audible warning device, two relays, and a timer. From what I have seen on a diagram, one relay is a starter relay, the other is the handbrake relay. The Deere parts diagram shows another starter relay as well, with a single mounting bracket. That relay was dangling nearby, wired only to the coil, obviously doing nothing. The other two leads had been clipped, and those two wires piggybacked with wires leading to the two relays in place.

On the two tractors, the fuses in the fuse block were wired differently from the factory. There are different fuses omitted, though that wiring all looks original.

So my second question is whether I should abandon trying to get back to some state of originality, since I don't know what that was, and try to think my way through the intent of the original wiring design. ?

PS The comment about wire colors was helpful. I won't obsess about color, but just try to trace where wires go.

Depending on what the parts manual sells the chunks of harness for and if they are available that might be new enough you could purchase a fresh one and it be more original

Myself I’d focus on safe and not causing a fire on the harness that’s completely hidden below the dash

i worked a jd dealer when that series tractor came out there was a dealer up date and the starting wiring was like a 4 hr deal to do the update when i got all done i was down to doing them in about 2.5 hrs you changed some wiring in the dash replaced the neutral start switch in top transmission and add a starter solenoid up under the hood the reason for the up date was that some of that series tractor would start on there own they be sating in a barn just start or in a field not good now that was in the 90s you might find a dealer or some one that has that paper work instruction and see if that is the problem

Ben, That's very helpful. That would explain some of what I see. There is a second solenoid up under the hood that doesn't appear in any of the diagrams. I'm left wondering what kind of circumstance could lead to a tractor starting on its own ?
Does anyone else recall this scenario ?
PS I don't think this change was done to my other 2155.
