How did you unstick it? Rebuild, tow and clutch, hammer, pry bar? I have a stuck WD engine. Thinking of jerk towing it back and forth in 3rd gear.

How did you unstick it? Rebuild, tow and clutch, hammer, pry bar? I have a stuck WD engine. Thinking of jerk towing it back and forth in 3rd gear.

I used a mix of Kroil and 2 stroke oil in the spark plug holes. I let them soak for a day. Then I alternated between prying on the flywheel and putting it in 4th gear and rocking the tires. Before I did the soak, I tried to pull it and pop the clutch. I only did that a couple of times. I was afraid of breaking something so I searched the forums and made my “juice” and practiced patience. I spent a few hours a day for three days before I finally got the flywheel to move about half an inch. Then I was motivated and kept at it until I got the flywheel all the way around. At that point I just cranked the starter a little at a time.

When I actually tried starting it, I had to cut rags to push through the plug holes to clean up the cylinders and mop up some of the excess juice.

I never pulled the head off or tore it apart at all.

The video shows the first time I started it. The linkage still needs adjusting. It’s shown at full throttle and 3/4 choke to run. I expect I’ll have to open up the governor and clean it up and see if it’s stuck or if the spring is broken.

The Kroil was more like a paste because it was so old. I used one tube of Oregon 2 stroke chainsaw oil and probably 2 or 3 teaspoons of Kroil. I wanted it thin enough that it could creep around the rings. I put it in an old oil squirt can. It was thin enough to squirt through the can but not so thin that it wouldn’t stay on the cylinder walls.
