This is my first post to this forum. I am considering buying a ford 3000 or a ford 800 or 801 series tractor. I have a 9n that wasn't running and the hydraulics were not working, which I realized after I got it running. I was able to fix it by reading these threads and watching YouTube videos. Anyway, I have a little bit of know how but I'm no mechanic. I'm looking for some advice on the ford 3000 tractor. I cant find much info on YouTube on the engine. Is there is good manual that I can buy that would have step by step directions on how to rebuild the engine and things like that? I don't plan on buying a tractor that needs an engine rebuild, just looking into the future. I would rather get a gasoline engine because the little mechanic experience i have is with gas engines. Is the 3000 a good tractor? Is the 800/ 801 series easier to work on? Any advice or opinions would be much appreciated.

A 3000 series diesel with the 8 speed tranny and Live PTO are good choices. I currently have 3 (3000, 3600, and 3910) and they are good workers. If you find one with power steering a big plus, especially for us old guys.
