Ford 8N timming

Thanks to you folks I am finally starting to get the engine back together again for my 8N. My latest problem is I cannot find a timming dot on the crankshaft gear. There is a white dot on one tooth of the gear but nothing else. I did pull the front cover and locate the indented dot on the camshaft gear. Does anyone know if the white dot replaces the indented dot. Thanks, Basil
