framall m wide front end

can anyone tell me if you can swithch out a tricycle front end for a wide one and where to get one

Wide fronts for an M Farmall can come from any M,SM,400,and through the Large frame XXXX tractors. Some Modification of mounting brackets are required at the rear where the pivot ball meats the rear of the engine. but no serious. I can't tell you where because location////shipping it radical. most will have wear, so expect to put effort toward that. Jim

I would tend to shy away from the older original M wide fronts with the tie rods in front They take 40 acres to turn around with. If you could find one out of something like the 06up to the 66 series and maybe some of the ones just newer than the M they would turn shorter for you. After having that spin around on a dime and give you 8 cents back you will wish for that narrow front again.

The parent company of YT runs multi-state ag salvage yards you might try them. All States Ag Parts 855-530-1460
Telling where you are would also be helpful. I would also recommend you add this to your profile so others can see it in the future. Many times it is very helpful.

As said,a wide from several tractors will fit. From the old 'old style',to the newer styles,includeing the '06/56 styles will also fit. Then there are aftermarket Swartz;Norden; Speeco and others that work just as well as a factory IH.Depending on the front,expect to pay anywhere from 500 to a thousand.Dont know where you are,but I have an 'old style' that I would sell. Western Colorado.

Seriously though, there is no "tractor wide front end store." Would be nice if there was a store for every accessory you could think of for old tractors, but there isn't. You have to look for things like this. Where? Anywhere. Everywhere. You just never know where or when something like this will pop up for sale, or will be sitting in the weeds waiting to be discovered. Salvage yards. Ebay. Craigslist. Facebook Marketplace. Auctions. Keep your eyes open and cash in your pocket.
