Fortschritt. An East German built combine harvester. Bonhill Engineering, an importer of East German machines brought in a number of these combines as they were a lot cheaper than Claas, New Holland and Massey Ferguson. The ones sold were surprisingly good for an East German product, I had a neighbour who was a contractor and was always very complimentary about the ones he owned. Very simple, no frills and did a good job.
This one is one I spotted, back in the 1980's. It is a pre-production machine, on trial in Cambridgeshire and painted to look like a Claas. The usual colour was blue and white. When Germany re-united, Claas took an interest in Fortschritt and now own the factories that produced these machines.
