Frozen brakes

Neighbor called me yesterday, said the brake on one side of his JD 1050 compact tractor was seized. I suspected ice, told him to hold a torch on it for a few minutes. He got it moving and brought it over. We put it inside my shop, withe the heat on, unbolted the brake housing cover, and about half a cupful of water ran out. Cleaned up, dried out and reassembled. Now the brakes work.
