One problem in feeding hogs trimmings from super market produce is that the cartons are held closed with metal clips.....I for one don't want to feed any of my livestock metal clips....I know because decades ago, I used to moonlight at a chain grocery store and was there and experienced it.

Never worried about the boxes with metal clips to my pigs. Never seen them even eat the box. we go in and clean up the cardboard after they have cleaned up the scraps and rotten fruit. We had 20 cases of oranges and avocado about a month ago. Pigs loved it.
