Getting caught up mowing

After close to three months I have caught up with my mowing projects. I still have a few customers who will still call, but I'm not rushed to beat the fire dept. deadline to have the weeds mowed. One city the deadline was May 15, others cities are later. Now I will probably gain back the 15 pounds I lost the last few months rushing around. Stan

My mowing jobs are in full swing as long as it's not too wet with all the rain we've gotten lately. I have 18 acres of yards I mow weekly, plus about 15 acres that are monthly jobs. Also mower and equipment repair jobs, plus working a full time job on top of all that. But I have tons of vacation days so I take every Friday off from Memorial Day to Labor Day to get a 3 day weekend all summer, so every Friday is my primary mowing day.

last summer that process got me down to where i can wear the same waist size i wore in high school, at only 3 pounds over. and those pants that i bought for the occasion still fit this year.. boy, did that make me feel good

During my factory job years I worked nights., on the 3rd shift. I would get to bed around 4 PM, wake up at 11 get to work at 12:00 AM get off 8:00 AM head home, and start my day, until the afternoon . I did that for around 4 months. I wouldn't do that again. Stan

I've had 7 day weekends for 12 years. At 70, it's still getting harder each year to find enough time. Won't stop me from trying though.

In 1984, I was 165 with a 30" waist. Now I'm 175 with a 35" waist. Still not certain how 10# translates into 5". Must be the "new math" everyone keeps talking about.

Your settling! Are your feet getting bigger too? My dad used to say you settle when you get older, but he was never overweight. I have lost almost 20 ponds since I retired 15 years ago, but part of it might be having cancer. But I keep going, get busier every year, spent 7 hors on my tractor yesterday. I can still work a 12 hour day at 72.

I have no idea whether I can or can't work a 12 hr. day. I can guarantee you I have no intention of finding out!

I was pushing 250#, 6'5, 38" waist back in 2005 when I retired. Today, after 2 episodes of Lymphoma (2013 and 2023, 6 months of once a month, monthly infusions) different locations in my body, I am getting my weight back, cancer cured again.....all the way up to 212#, and my clothes just hang on me.

Texas has widespread "Texas Oncology" cancer treament centers across the state. Mine is 25 miles down the road. With both of my cancers, one in the stomach and the other in the pelvis area, independent of the digestive tract, I can't believe the quality of treatment I can get 25 miles from the house and Medicare has been a darlin in picking up the bills. Can't be happier.
